Dr. Ayşegül URAL ÖZAY
Orthodontist and Clinical Researcher
Dr. Ayşegül Ural Özay is an orthodontist with a focus on evidence-based, patient-centred care. She completed her undergraduate and master’s degrees at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry in 2015. She then began the PhD programme at the same university’s Department of Orthodontics and graduated in 2022.
Her doctoral thesis, ‘In Vitro Investigation of the Effect of Intraoral Temperature Variations on the Mechanical Properties of Clear Aligner Material,’ addresses a current and clinically relevant topic. She has also contributed to the literature with a research article titled ‘Investigation of the Mechanical Properties of Different Clear Aligner Materials.’ This body of work reflects in-depth knowledge and experience, particularly in clear aligner therapy.
Dr. Ayşegül Ural Özay is an active member of professional bodies including the Turkish Dental Association, the Turkish Orthodontic Society, the Young Turkish Orthodontic Society (founding member) and the European Orthodontic Society (EOS). Over the course of her career she has attended numerous national and international courses, congresses and symposia, including the Myobrace course, Damon Master Class, the "Simplify Your Orthodontic Approaches with Technology" seminars with Dr. Chris Chang, and Invisalign certification courses, to follow current developments in her field. Further training such as the Clear Correct clear aligner certification course and the Planmycase CLINCHECK Masters course supports her familiarity with contemporary orthodontic workflows.
Together with her colleague and husband, Dr. Furkan Özay, she has built her career in dentistry. She is the mother of twin sons, Mert and Berk. With a strong interest in scientific research, a patient-centred approach and a commitment to continued learning, she works as an orthodontist focused on careful, individualised treatment planning.
